Monroe Township Fire Department

“Always On Call”

Join the Force!

The MTFD is looking for motivated and dependable members of the community to become volunteer firefighters and/or emergency medical technicians.  Becoming a member is fun, exciting and rewarding.

As a new recruit you will join the friendly but professional staff of 100% volunteers.  Once you become a member you will receive professional Fire and EMS training.  Meetings consist of equipment inspections and Fire or EMS training.

Training and departmental meetings are typically held on the first and third Sunday of each month in the evening.  A special training session is also held every third month (Quarterly).

Members are also allowed to attend CITA Fire School which is held every fall at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.

Joining the MTFD family is also a great way to make new friends while you serve your community in many ways.  If you would like to join the department or just stop by and see what we are all about, give Fire Chief Larry McBurney a call at one of the numbers listed below.
